Top 10 CGI movie countdown: Place 9- Kung Fu Panda

Description

For number nine in my top CGI movie countdown I’m temporarily going to leave Disney and have a look at their ravel, Dreamworks. It has to be said the Dreamworks has made a lot of poor films (mind you so has Disney) but one that really stands out as a great is Kung fu panda. Not only is it nice to see a kids film set in China as the last one that comes to mind was Mulan but also the idea of having a big fluffy pander using kung fu is a very original and funny one. The plot is good if not a little slow at first but picks up and ends very well and leave you satisfied. Most of the characters are well written and you really do feel for Po (Surprising considering I don’t really like Jack Black) and others such as Master Shifu, and Tai Lung. Yes it’s not often you sympathize with villains in kids movies but I feel that you could with him. Sadly most of the other characters don’t have a lot to them and neither does the music. (Other than the end song) Still this is a really good movie and a little bit of prove that Dreamworks can be just as good as Disney.

Hah, yes, agreed. Tai Lung was an interesting character indeed, a case of sympathy that in the end goes unrequited. The Legends of Awesome fill in the other character's backstories more, but they're not part of the movie.
